Pensioner hurt in freak taxi accident in Normanton

A PENSIONER suffered serious injuries during a freak accident as she got out of a taxi.

As the 68-year-old woman got out of the front passenger door of a Volkswagen Golf taxi on West Close, Normanton, her coat became trapped and the taxi began to drive off.

She fell to the floor and sustained serious injuries.

The incident happened at around 2.30pm on Thursday, November 3.

She was taken to Pinderfields Hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.
