Brenda Wardle, programme manager for Age UK Wakefield District, said: “We are delighted to host our annual Silver Sunday event in The Ridings on Sunday October 2 from 10am to 2pm.

"The event is part of a national day to overcome loneliness amongst older people that is held on the first Sunday in October.”

For one day every year, Silver Sunday provides older people an opportunity to try new things, meet new people and find out about local services that are available throughout the year.
