Almost 800 houses in Pontefract were left without power on Monday
Hundreds of homes experienced a loss of power in Thorpe Audlin and other villages around Pontefract on Monday afternoon due to trees coming into contact with power lines.
A spokesperson for Northern Powergrid said that initially 778 homes were without power from 2.41pm and that 701 of these were reconnected at 3.44pm.
The other 77 were expected to be without power until 10pm tonight.

Hide AdNorthern Powergrid sent text messages to its customers saying that the properties were affected due to "an unexpected problem with the cables and equipment." and that it had to switch off the power for safety purposes while engineers worked on the cable and equipment.
