Eddie, a retired racing greyhound, enjoys playing with squeaky toys and is great to go out on a nice walk with. Since he has a high prey drive he wears a muzzle out and about but he's not bothered by it at all. Eddie is manageable around other dogs but prefers to be walked in quieter areas where they won't be in his face. This also means he can't share his home with any other pets. He is house trained and likes to be up on the sofa for a snooze so relaxed house rules are a must. Eddie will need a secure garden so he has somewhere to explore and enjoy occasional zoomies off lead. He will need an adult only home as he can be uncomfortable around children. Eddie is used to having owners around all the time but once set in his new routine he should be fine to be left for a few hours so may suit a part time worker. If you are up for plenty of fun, long walks and a sofa companion, then look no further than our lovely Eddie! Photo: Dogs Trust
Edie, a 2-year-old shar-pei, is a sweet girl who is great once she has a relationship with you, however she is very worried by unfamiliar people and takes time to build trust. She is more comfortable with females rather than males. Once there is a bond she is very interactive and affectionate. Unfortunately, she does not like being around other dogs so cannot share her home with any pets and must be walked in quiet areas where she won't have any dogs coming up to her. She loves to play with toys and is ace with her training. In the home, she is very clean, calm, and actually rather lazy! Edie is still working on a few training areas, like muzzle work, but is ready to start getting to know her new family through regular visits to the centre while we continue her training. Due to her nervous character, Edie needs a calm and peaceful home with adults only and at least one female, who will be around all the time initially. She doesn't need attention all the time but just likes to know you're there. In time she w Photo: Dogs Trust
Jake is a very handsome 6 year old Lurcher. He is one of life's worriers though. He can be shy when he first meets you, but he's easily won over if you've got a few treats in your pocket! Once he knows you he is the softest lad you could meet.He likes his walks and he also loves lounging on a sofa, a good walk somewhere quiet will keep him happy. He's manageable around other dogs but he doesn't like them in his personal space however he is happy to wear a muzzle out and about. Jake doesn't like being left on his own so he'll need his owners around all the time initially. He'll need to be the only pet in an adult only home where there will be no visiting children at all. He'll also need a good sized secure garden. Most importantly though, he needs owners who will share their sofa with him and who enjoy lots of cuddles! Jake will need multiple visits to get to know him before he is ready to fly the nest so his new owners must live within an hours drive from the centre. Jake is such a cuddly boy and full of love Photo: Dogs Trust
Charlie is a handsome Akita Cross and he is 5 years old. He has a lot of affection to give to his new family although he can be quite wary of new people, he will quickly come round if you introduce yourself and in no time he will be all over you wanting his bum scratching. He is very smart and enjoys training, as long as you have a tasty treat in your hand. Sadly, Charlie has had a lot of upheaval in his life so he is needing very special owners who will go the distance with him and make his next move be his last. Due to his size, he is not suitable to live with children or any other pets. He must have his own large secure garden to play off lead and chill in the fresh air. Most of all, Charlie needs his humans to see what a wonderful companion he is and give him the chance he deserves Photo: Dogs Trust
