Express 'Cafe of the Year' winner will reopen tomorrow

The most recent winner of the Wakefield Express Cafe of the Year award will reopen its doors tomorrow as lockdown restrictions lift.

Neptune Diner on Westmorland Street in the city centre is one of many establishments allowed to reopen from July 4.

These are the bars, cafes and restaurants that will be allowed to open this weekendOwner Harry Joannou said: "We have run the Neptune Diner as a family for nearly 50 years and the most we have been closed is three days over the Christmas period so this really has been something of a culture shock.

"We have had our takeaway store breakfast open for the last three weeks and have started a new online delivery service with Uber Eats from 8am-3pm Monday to Saturday, which has proved very popular.

"We want to assure our loyal customers both old and new that we have worked really hard to implement all of the government guidelines regarding the reopening of our newly decorated cafe and we are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back on Saturday.
