7. A summer of live music
Enjoy free live music at Pontefract Castle every Sunday in August, noon to 2pm. This Sunday, August 27, visitors can enjoy music by Martin Berger an, Argentinian woodwinds player, composer, arranger, performer and educator. Martín is supported by his friend Jacob Harrison, ais a classical guitarist and composer who writes spell-binding and highly virtuosic works for the solo classical guitar, film, theatre and his duo with saxophonist Martín. 8. Ponte Rocks
This Saturday, August 26, at Farmer Copleys, Ponte Rocks is a live music festival featuring five of the country’s top tribute bands. As well as live music there will be street food, desert and ice-cream vans plus craft, vintage clothing and vinyl record stalls. There will also be a large beer tent selling all kinds of alcoholic and soft drinks. This weekend will see top award-winning tributes to The Beatles, Blondie, The Killers, Oasis and The Stereophonics. There are no age restrictions so children of all ages will be welcome. Children’s activities such as bouncy castles, crafts and face painting will also be on site. There will be baby change facilities as well as disabled toilets and access.
