A West Yorkshire man has revealed the unusual way he has spent lockdown in his garden pub shed - creating amazing vehicles out of Coca-Cola cans.

Lindsay, from Knottingley, doesn't even like Coca-Cola - however with help from his next door neighbour's donations, he has crafted the vehicles from more than 60 cans per piece.

Every can is sliced and formed to match up with official logos of the vehicles, with a particular attention to detail in the recreation process of well known vehicles.

Lindsay, who works on the youth offending team at Kirklees local authority, said he started his passion just four years ago.

He told the Yorkshire Evening Post that his hobby began while his wife was on holiday in Scotland.

Lindsay said: "I used to sit in the pub shed at the bottom of my garden on a Friday night and crush up the cans I had drunk.

"I sat there and used to think 'what can I do with these?!'

"I thought, I am going to see what I can do."

He has made eight in total so far - each one becoming more and more detailed as he refines his skills.

Lindsay described the creation process.

He said: "I do a lot of the preparation work in the shed.

"I get the fire going and the music on.

"The final touches are put on inside my home, it gets very cold inside the shed this time of the year!"

Lindsay said it was a meticulous process to create each vehicle.

He added: "I always like to see the logos match up right.

"For me, everything needs to match up and look proper.

"I look at the cans and think 'where can I used them?!'"

Lindsay believes he has come a long way since his first creation - which he has kept.

He said: "I have still got that first car.

"I had no idea what I was doing at first, but at the time I remember thinking it looked great.

"I have always been quite creative.

"I love having something to put my mark on."

Lindsay - who said he is new to social media - posted some pictures of his work in a Facebook page for Pub Shed enthusiasts.

He said the reaction had been "amazing" - with thousands of people praising his work.

He added: "The response has been fantastic."
