The four piece, who hail from Kippax, are to put on a gig at Temple Newsam in Leeds, supported by Wakefield rockers, The Cribs, and Liverpool band The Coral.

The Music, who split in 2011, said the idea to reform came from the reaction to a Twitter ‘listening party’, where fans listen to albums and discuss bands over social media.

The band said: “It reminded us how much we loved the music that we made together, and more importantly just how much we really like each other as people. So we booked a rehearsal, just to see what it would feel like to get in a room and play together, and it felt amazing.”

The gig will take place on Friday, May 28 next year Tickets are £45 and will go on sale tomorrow, Friday, September 11 from 10am on seetickets.com and lunatickets.co.uk
