Sir Tom Moore drops in for a spot of lunch

A hotel restuarant received a pleasant surprise this week when Sir Tom Moore visited for lunch.

The 100-year-old who was recently knighted for helping to raise a staggering £33 million for the NHS during lockdown by walking laps of his garden, enjoyed at meal at Wentbridge House Hotel in Wentbridge.

The Yorkshire-born hero had back been on his native soil on Monday visiting the Army Training College in North Yorkshire and was accompanied by his family when they stopped at the hotel’s brasserie.

A spokesman at the hotel said: “He made a huge effort to say hello and have photos taken with our guests.”
