Volunteers wanted to help bring Wakefield news to the registered blind

Wakefield’s Talking Newspaper, which records the Express for those registered blind, is wanting volunteers to teach users how to access the service online.

More than 170 people use the service, but postal delivery has been stopped due to the epidemic.

In a statement, organisers said: "Due to the Corona Virus pandemic we regret that we have had to suspend our weekly USB memory stick distribution service until further notice.

"We are, however, continuing to deliver our newspaper each week via our other means of distribution.

"We release our weekly online editions on Tuesday mornings.

"We are very concerned that many of our listeners presently rely upon the USB service, so if you know anyone who usually listens to us via USB please advise them that they can still access our material by these other methods. Thank you."
