Wakefield charity to host race Night to raise vital funds after second break-in

A Wakefield charity will be hosting a fundraiser after being targeted by burglars for the second time in just eight days.

Kidz Aware will be hosting a Race Night tonight (Friday, February 21) to help raise funds to replace the items stolen.

Gillian Archbold, founder of charity, said: "We live and breathe this charity - it's not just a job.

"The children and all the families we support need us and we will continue to offer that support."

Gillian and daughter Sabrina founded the charity in 1995 and have continued to offer support to families with children who have disabilities.

The charity was targeted again for the second time this month.The Race Night, at The Malt House pub on Wakefield Road, will be held tonight from 7pm-9.30pm and will include bingo, competitions and prizes for all ages to enjoy.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up welcoming all donations to help replace the stolen items.
