Sarah said they were inspired by another couple who also had their wedding online.

“It's important to do something if your big day has been cancelled so it's not a day of sadness.”

The new Mr and Mrs Quinn have rearranged a big party for their family and friends when lockdown is lifted.

The ceremony was hosted by Ellie Brooks from WildFlower Ceremonies, in aid of the NHS.

A handfasting ceremony took place, the virtual mini-handfasting ceremony sees couples tie the knot of commitment in a mini ceremony.

In exchange for the ceremony Ellie Brooks asks for a donation of £15 which will then be donated to NHS Charities Together.

The term ‘Handfasting’ is believed to be derived from the Old Norse term ‘handfesta’, meaning ‘to strike a bargain by joining hands’.
