Wakefield Grade-II building to be converted into flats
A city-centre office building has been given the go-ahead to be converted into eight self-contained flats.
Carlton House on Sandy Walk is Grade II-listed and sits in a conservation area, but it has been largely vacant for a considerable amount of time, with the applicant saying significant investment is required.
Planning officers recommended approval, adding: “The change of use to eight apartments is considered to be the optimum viable use for the building having regard to the location within the city centre.”
