The biggest solar eclipse in 16 years cast a shadow over the district this morning.
At its peak, only 10 per cent of the sun was visible as the moon passed across its surface.
A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon entirely obscures the sun from the Earth’s view.
The last time the UK witnessed an almost total eclipse was in 1999.
And Helen Grieve from Ossett took a picture of the eclipse from her back garden.
