Playwright Janet Shaw’s latest show will be premiering in Ossett next month.
Adult comedy Full Circle will be performed at St Ignatius Parish Centre, Storrs Hill, from Thursday, February 25, to Saturday, February 27.
The show tells the story of Dee and Millie, who haven’t spoken civilly since 1969, although nobody knows why.
That’s how it would have stayed until fate took a hand when Brian and Linda, their respective children, met and married.
Ms Shaw started writing plays and dramas twenty years ago and her first attempt Love is a Four Letter Word was based around her personal experiences of her marriage breaking down while pregnant.
She went on to write more scripts, many of which are based around unlikely topics such as domestic abuse and childbirth.
Her plays, which are published by Stagescripts UK Ltd, have now been performed as far afield as America, South Africa, Canada and Australia, as well as closer to home at Wakefield Theatre Royal.
The former pub landlady formed her own company Jaba Inc and started taking part in the Wakefield Festival of Drama, from when it first launched to 2009.
She has once again entered into the festival with Full Circle.
The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £6 for adults and £5 for concessions.
They are available from C&J Armitage in Ossett’s Wellgate Centre, or by calling 01924 262948.
The play is not suitable for young children.
Wakefield Festival of Drama will see 16 full length plays performed at Wakefield Theatre Royal from May 29 to June 4.
