Poem to mark National Pie Week

A PASTRY loving poet has penned a poem in honour of Denby Dale, the UK’s only designated “Pie Village”.

Barnsley bard Ian McMillan’s Denby Dale Piem pays homage to village’s 220-year-old pie making tradition.

The Denby Dale Pie Company has made it into the Guinness Book of Records for making the world’s biggest pie.

The poem was commission to mark National Pie Week which starts on Monday.
