Police name Wakefield man who died in Yorkshire Dales beauty spot plunge

David Longbottom, 72, of Ossett, near Wakefield, fell to his death while walking near Malham Cove on November 5.

The incident occured at around 4.30pm and is not being treated as suspicious.

PC Simon Crossley, of North Yorkshire Police, said: “If you were in the Malham Cove area and can help identify Mr Longbottom’s movements just prior to his tragic death, please get in touch with as soon as possible.”
