There are just 85 days to go until Christmas.
But people living in Wakefield won’t have to wait that long to get into the festive spirit.
An ice rink and special market will be part of Wakefield Council’s Christmas Festival.
Christmas gifts and seasonal treats will also be on sale at the city centre event, from Friday, November 22 until Sunday, November 24.
And visitors will be able to skate on the synthetic rink between 11am and 6pm for £3 a session.
The festival will also include visits from Santa’s reindeers, street entertainment and craft activities.
Christmas markets will then run for the three following weekends on the cathedral precinct.
Coun David Dagger, cabinet member for culture, said: “There is a lot going on in Wakefield in the run up to the festive season this year. It’s the perfect way to start your celebrations.
“I am delighted that during the Christmas Festival the precinct will be home to the ultimate winter activity, ice skating. With so much to see and do, there’s something for everyone.”
