MPs Mary Creagh and Jon Trickett given top jobs in Labour’s shadow cabinet

Labour MPs Mary Creagh and Jon Trickett have been given new jobs in a reshuffle of shadow cabinet positions.

Wakefield MP Ms Creagh has moved from shadow transport to brief to become Labour’s shadow international development secretary.

Mr Trickett, who is the MP for Hemsworth, has been made senior adviser to Labour Leader Ed Miliband and retains the role of shadow minister without portfolio.

Normanton MP Yvette Cooper will continue as shadow home secretary and Ed Balls, the Morley and Outwood MP, remains as shadow chancellor.
