Developers want to build 105 homes in Alverthorpe.
A mix of two, three and four bedroom houses, both detached and semi-detached, have been planned for farmland off Batley Road and Gelder Court.
The site, which borders onto Low Laithes Golf Club, was allocated for housing in Wakefield Council’s Local Development Framework (LDF).
And ID Planning have submitted a planning application to the council on behalf of landowners Messrs Kininmonth and Davies.
A design and access statement said: “The site presents an excellent opportunity to create a desirable place for family living, with residential uses surrounding the site and excellent transport links to the large town and cities in the area.
“Tree buffering is used to the boundaries to help address privacy issues.
“Boundary treatments will be carefully considered, providing screening where required or retaining open views where it is desirable.”
A new junction would be created with Batley Road to serve the new development.
Many of the homes will have their own garages, and there will be 25 off-street parking bays.
The design and access statement said the homes had been faced in a way which would encourage interaction.
It said: “The strength of the scheme is within the layout in creating community living, and ensures a friendly neighbourhood with people looking out for one another.”
