Retail unit in city centre to become takeaway
A retail unit near Wakefield city centre will be converted into a takeaway.
Permission had been sought as far back as 1984 to convert 49 Westgate End into a restaurant but it was rejected.
Now a new application to convert the unit has been approved.
A planning report said the area now had other similar businesses and changing shopping habits meant it could not be rejected for taking up retail space.
