Seaside spirit and a special market will draw people to the city centre this weekend.
Wakefield Council’s second annual Seaside in the City event will feature an 18-foot pirate ship, a Helter Skelter, funfair rides and other family entertainment.
And a sand pit has been set up in the cathedral precinct ahead of the event, which runs today and tomorrow from 10am.
The second monthly Wood Street Market will also take place tomorrow.
Around 50 stalls will sell locally-produced food, handmade crafts, unique gifts and art.
There will also be street performers and live bands.
