Pontefract and Castleford Christmas lights switch on events this week
Pontefract's Christmas lights will be switched on in the town's Market Place on Monday, November 23.
There will be a Christmas market, children's rides and entertainment around St Giles' Church and the Buttercross from 4.30pm.

Hide AdThe lights will be switched on by Pontefract councillors and schoolchildren at 6.30pm.
Castleford will be transformed into a winter wonderland on Tuesday, November 24.
Youngsters from schools across the town will hold a lantern procession across Millennium Bridge from 4.45pm.
They will then parade up Sagar Street and on to Carlton Street.

Hide AdThere will be a Christmas market set up in and around Carlton Street and there will also be donkey rides and entertainment in the town centre from 4.30pm.
The schoolchildren will be joined by Castleford councillors for the lights switch on at 5.30pm.
Coun Les Shaw, Wakefield Council's cabinet member for culture, leisure and sport said: “We want to encourage everyone to come and enjoy the lights switch-ons and Christmas markets.
“These events offer an opportunity for families and friends to get together and have a good time.”
