Pontefract Castle closed due to high winds
Pontefract Castle has closed for the day (Tuesday) due to high winds.
Wakefield Council has decided to close the site to visitors after gusts of up to 70 mph were forecast.
A council spokesman said it hopes to reopen the castle as normal tomorrow.
