Primary school closed due to burst water main

Wakefield The Mount J&I school, on Thornes Road, is closed to children and support staff due to the utility failure.

It will be open as planned for Parents' Evening tonight but there may be limited facilities, Wakefield Council said.

The Yorkshire Water website states that there is no water or low pressure in the Thornes WF2 area due to "urgent repairs".

It states: "We're really sorry but customers may have low pressure or no water due to urgent repairs. We will finish repairs as soon as possible. Once restored, water may be cloudy or discoloured, this will return to normal shortly after and you can help clear this by running your tap for a few minutes.
