Eight teachers at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School slept in cardboard boxes for the night to raise money and awareness of the city’s homeless people.

Past events have raised more than £5,000 for the Community Awareness Programme.

David Craig, headteacher at QEGS senior school, said: “The boys here are in awe of the work CAP does for Wakefield’s homeless and staff wanted to chip in. Thankfully, this year it was the first time ever it wasn’t below zero as we curled up inside our cardboard boxes.”
