KETTLES across the district will be constantly switched on today and tomorrow to celebrate the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.
The annual fundraiser aims to collect thousands of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Nine-year-old Tolly Hartley is one of those backing this year’s event by selling refreshments at Kirkhamgate Village Hall tomorrow.
The Kirkhamgate Primary School pupil will also have various stalls and a raffle with prizes donated by local business, from 10am to 1pm.
Tolly of Regent Place, Thorpe, was inspired to take part after her grandmother Mary Quinn, 60, died from cancer a few years ago.
Staff at Wakefield Magistrates’ Court already raised £307 with an event on Monday.
Today Carr Gate Garden Centre on Old Bradford Road will hold an event from 9am to noon.
Friends of Wakefield Chantry Chapel will also host a coffee morning from 10.30am to 1pm.
Breast of Friends breast cancer support group will be at Elizabethan Gallery on Brook Street from 9.30am to 1pm.
Several groups and businesses are also joining in the fun in the city centre, Horbury, Ossett and Normanton.
