Redrow's new sales director heads home to Yorkshire

Redrow’s new Yorkshire sales director Steve Jackson is happy to be back on home turf after travelling across the Pennines for the past 10 years on a daily basis.His new post is based at Redrow’s regional headquarters in Wakefield and he’ll oversee the sales operation for developments which currently spread from Green Hammerton and York in the north of the patch to Thongsbridge, Highburton and Scissett in the Huddersfield area.He’s particularly pleased to have a clutch of developments within striking distance of his Holmfirth home, including one of the region’s newest developments, Stoney Bank Chase, at Thongsbridge.Having worked in the housebuilding industry for more than 30 years, latterly Steve had held sales and operations director posts with Barratt and David Wilson Homes, based in Warrington, Cheshire.Originally from Lincoln, he came to Leeds Beckett University to study for a building and construction degree in the 1980s, stayed in the area and eventually made a home for himself and his family in Holmfirth.Steve, 54, said: “I’m really excited to be back working in Yorkshire and it’s particularly pleasing to be working for Redrow, a company that’s very much admired for the quality of its homes and the investment it makes in their architectural features and the street scenes.”He joins Redrow as several developments are getting off the ground, including City Fields and St John’s Mews in Wakefield, and Aspen Park and The Poplars, in Garforth. And building will also start soon at Thorpe Park, East Leeds, where Redrow is the nominated developer for almost 300 new homes.Paul Oldridge, Redrow’s Yorkshire managing director, said: “Steve will be a great asset to the business. His sales experience and wider industry knowledge are exactly what we need as Redrow continues to grow.”
