Ridings teams up with KitAid as Euro 2016 kicks off to help kids

The Ridings shopping centre has teamed up with KitAid to launch the Kit Swap Challenge.

Shoppers are being asked to hand in old football kits to be donated to disadvantaged children in poor countries across the world.

People who want to donate can drop off kits to the Customer Services department at the shopping centre, based outside Marks and Spencer on the upper mall.

In exchange for donations, shoppers will be entered into a competition to win a selection of prizes. The challenge runs until August 6.

Sara Hassan, marketing manager at The Ridings, said: “As the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament gets underway, we wanted to turn our attention to those less fortunate.

“We’re asking for the local community to help us spread a little happiness globally by donating their old football kits.”
