The Royal Ballet gives out an invite

Four gifted young dancers have secured places on a Royal Ballet School training programme.

The children, all pupils at Sugar Kane’s School of Dance in South Elmsall, have been offered the chance to train on the Ballet Companies Associates Scheme after a tiring audition process.

They will continue to train at the school but will also be introduced to The Royal Ballet School’s system of classical ballet training through weekly classes at ballet schools and companies across the UK.

Ten-year-old Mackenzie Green, from South Elmsall, has been accepted onto the Royal Ballet Junior Associate Scheme and the Northern Ballet Company Junior Associate Scheme in Leeds.

Isobel Wilson, eight, from South Kirkby, secured a place on the waiting list for The Royal Ballet Junior Associates, after her first ever dance audition.

Lucy Beaumont, 10, from Hemsworth, will train at the Louise Browne Scholarship Centre in York. And Ellie Beaumont, aged 11, from Hemsworth, has also been accepted on the Northern Ballet Company Intermediate Associate Scheme in Leeds.

Tutor Claire Kane said: “These achievements are tantamount to the hard work and perseverance of my students.

“I am so very proud of them and hope that their future dreams come true.”

Many children on the Associates Scheme aspire to a career in dancing and in the past they have gone on to perform with the Royal Ballet companies.
