High street business owners have joined forces to entice more shoppers into Normanton and boost trade.
This week the town is holding its first ever Shopping Week, dedicated to getting people to shop local.
Independent traders have put on a range of special offers to encourage shoppers in to the town centre.
And today (Tuesday) people are being encouraged to grab their fresh produce and home wares from stall holders on Normanton Market.
From 10am until noon local businesses and support groups will have displays inside Normanton Baptist Church during a special coffee morning.
The week-long initiative is being run by Normanton Town Council, in association with Normanton Local Business Forum and the town centre partnership.
Mayor of Normanton Hazel Jones said: “We hope that these events will remind people of what Normanton has to offer and encourage shoppers to use town centre facilities.”
The Midland Hotel, on Market Square, will have special food and drink offers on all week and is allowing visitors to us its car park for free.
On Saturday there will be stalls selling gifts and crafts and a barbecue set up in it its new beer garden.
And a street party will be held down the High Street precinct from 11am until 3pm on Saturday.
There will be free face painting, entertainment from groups including Normanton Sports Acro and a live jazz band.
