Sinkhole caused by sewer collapse now being repaired
A small sinkhole that has appeared at junction in Stanley is finally being repaired by Yorkshire Water.
The company have confirmed that the hole, which appeared at the junction of Aberford Road and Lake Lock Road months ago, has been caused by a total sewer collapse.
Cones have since been placed around the site since to stop motorists from driving over the hole and work has started. Temporary traffic lights are in place and work is expected to finish on Tuesday.
