Slideshow: Boons victorious in hospice charity match

Two pub football teams took part in a charity game to raise money for Wakefield Hospice.

Henry Boons FC took on the Fox and Hounds at St Thomas a Becket playing fields.

The hospice is one of the sponsors of the Boons team, as well as Cooper and Cutt estate agents. Boons won the match by four goals to two.

The total amount raised has not yet been calculated but Boons’ player Tom Broadbent said they hoped it would be £150 to £200.

Mr Broadbent said: “It was a very good with a fun atmosphere. It was a competitive game but everyone was good sports.

The teams both play in the Wakefield District Sunday League.
