SLIDESHOW: Emmerdale stars take on Altofts at cricket

Soap stars from Emmerdale played a different role on Sunday.

Actors Chris Chittell, Jai Sharma and Joe-Warren Plant, who play who play Eric Pollard, Chris Bisson and Jacob Gallagher, respectively, took part in a charity cricket match in Wakefield yesterday.

The Emmerdale team played against an Altofts select side, including Super League referee Ben Thaler, at Lock Lane.

Grant Osborne, who took these pictures, said: “I would say there were more than 500 people there throughout the whole day. Proceeds went to Yorkshire Cancer Research.

“There was an auction during the break from play. Chris Chittell gave his time free to one lucky bidder to spend a few hours with him on his day off at the Emmerdale set and studios during filming. That went for £450.”
