An extreme stunt show, live music and sunshine helped draw in the crowds at this year’s South Hiendley Gala.

Organisers said around 1,200 people enjoyed the event at the village’s welfare ground on Saturday.

Stannage Stunt Team put on a show and gala queen Emily Anderson welcomes the crowds to the event.

Julie Manson, a member of the organising committee, said: “We had a really good day and everybody seemed to enjoy it.

“I think the sunshine really helped us in terms of how many people came.

“It was raining at first on Saturday morning and there was the storm on Friday night but by lunchtime it was scorching hot.”

Mrs Manson said preparations are already being made for next year’s gala, which will take place on Saturday, July 2.

She said: “The gala is a really big event in the village and brings everyone together.”
