SLIDESHOW: Ladies line up for race day
Hats, heels and hairdos were the order of the day when the ladies of Pontefract flocked to the racecourse last week.
The annual Ladies’ Day event saw thousands turn out in their finery for a day of fun at the Park Road track.
Norman Gundill, manager of the racecourse, said: “It went very well.

Hide Ad“We had a lovely afternoon and around 5,500 to 6,000 people turned out for the event.
“There were some lovely outfits and the ladies created an amazing atmosphere too - it really was superb.
“The Ladies’ Day is a very important date in our calendar. Every racecourse has one now and it’s one of the busiest race meetings we have.”
