Song and nursery rhyme themed scarecrows were on proud display at Lindale Church and Kirkhamgate Village Hall for the annual scarecrow festival.
Last weekend saw close to 60 entrees battle for prizes in the three category event helping raising funds for community projects and charity.
Chairwoman of the Scarecrow Festival, Dawn Dainton said:“It all went really well, we managed to get record numbers of entrees with 58 scarecrows.
“All of the new entries made a real effort and the winners paid superb attention to detail.
“It is a really nice event where everyone gets involved.
“The whole weekend just had a really good atmosphere.”
The group have been able to ordered a portable defibrillator that is expected next month.
It will be set up for public use at the Kirkhamgate Village Hall.
Alongside this funds are planned to be put towards improving playgrounds in the area following negotiations with the council.
Congratulations are in order for the Agadoo scarecrow team, who came first for best overall scarecrow.
They were closely followed by Wrecking Ball and Doctor Foster.
Honourable mention goes to the rest of the top 10 entrees. Viva las Vegas, Five Speckled Frogs, Sing a Song of Sixpence, White Christmas, Walk like an Egyptian, Row Row Row your Boat and Ring a Ring of Roses.
Mrs Dainton gave thanks to all involved in organising the event.
