YORKSHIRE cricketer Richard Pyrah has been bowled over by a really special delivery.
The birth of his twin daughters meant he had to miss a cricketing tour of Barbados by the county side.
But the new dad from Ossett said: “I wouldn’t have missed this for the world.”
As his teammates played his favourite sport on the other side of the world, the 29-year-old was with his partner, Lucinda, at Pinderfields Hospital where the girls were born by caesarian section.
Tilly Rae, 4lbs 12oz, arrived at 4.03pm, closely followed by Mollie Mae at 4.05pm and weighing in at 6lbs.
He added: “Missing the tour is a disappointment, but I couldn’t have missed this.”
The former Ossett High School pupil has represented his county since 2004 and made a name for himself with some steady performances in one-day cricket.
He is known as an all-rounder batsman, but has impressed with his medium-pace bowling and fielding.
