Team to tackle Great North Run in aid of Wakefield Hospice

A team of runners is hoping to cross the finish line of the world's biggest half marathon in aid of Wakefield Hospice this weekend.

The 22 people are taking part in the Great North Run for a variety of reasons, such as Andy Straughan, Charlie Brook and Tim Driver who all signed up after completing the hospice’s ‘Sarah’s 10k a Day in May’ challenge.

Jamie Strachan, events fundraiser, said: “We are constantly humbled by what our supporters will do to raise money towards the £11,000 we need to run the hospice each day. I am personally looking forward to congratulating all 22 of them when they cross the finish line in South Shields.”
