Two-year-old Oliver was left devastated after losing ‘Teddy’ while on the break with his mum Clair Robinson, dad Kriss Roberts and sisters Taylor and Maddison in the Lincolnshire town last month.

The family lost the teddy when they went for a meal on the penultimate day of their stay at Haven Holidays’ Thorpe Park site.

But after Miss Robinson, of Featherstone, posted an appeal on Facebook a woman contacted her to say she thought she had found Teddy.

Miss Robinson, 38, of Leatham Crescent, said: “We were in a pub restaurant and Oliver had finished his food and we went to give him his blanket, dummy and Teddy but realised the teddy wasn’t there.

“My partner went and traced back the route we had taken to get to the pub but he couldn’t find it anywhere.

“We knew it must have been dropped so I decided to post something on Facebook about it.”

Miss Robinson then received a message from a woman from Grimsby saying she had found Teddy.

She said: “I had seen other posts on Facebook about lost teddy bears so I thought I’d give it a go.

“It got shared on the Cleethorpes Tourist Information page and hundreds of people saw it. It just shows the power of Facebook.

“We were mortified to come home without Teddy. It’s the one he’s had since he was born so it was more about the sentimental value of it to be honest.

“We were amazed when I got the message.”
