Fire and rescue crews from South Kirkby were called to a field off Harewood Lane around 5pm this evening where they found the teenager stuck and in pain with his foot on the steel bar.

It is believed he had been walking across the field at the time and had not seen the bar in the ground.

Watch Commander Darren Hague, from South Kirkby Fire Station said they managed to remove the bar and the boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
