A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured by a hit and run motorcyclist.
The teenager and his friend were riding their bikes outside Hemsworth Water Park at around 1am on Saturday.
A motorcyclist was riding along Wakefield Road when he hit one of the boys.
The teenager suffered serious injuries to his head and shoulder but they are not life threatening.
The rider fell from his motorbike but got back on his vehicle and left the scene heading towards Fitzwilliam.
The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the incident to get in touch.
The motorcyclist is between 25 to 30-years-old, of medium build, and around 5ft 10in tall.
He was wearing a dark leather jacket, separate motorcycling trousers and a black and white helmet.
PC Nick Untisz, of West Yorkshire Police, said: The motorcycle involved will have been damaged and is described as being black or dark blue.
“It had a top fairing and belly pan and is possibly a straight four cylinder of 600cc or above with a single silencer exhaust and straight handle bars.
“There is a possibility it was a Yamaha Fazer or Suzuki Bandit.”
Anyone with information should call PC Nick Untisz on 101.
