They will dare to bare for charity

A mother and her pals are set to bare all in memory of her youngster six years after his death.

Castleford’s Anita Brayshaw has convinced 18 friends to take part in a naked calendar shoot to raise cash for Martin House Hospice in Wetherby, which provided respite care for her seven-year-old son, Jack, before he died in May 2012.

He had suffered from numerous illnesses, was registered blind, had epilepsy and was unable to walk or talk.

Anita says the family have helped raise more than £50,000 for the hospice over the years.

And she says there was no shortage of volunteers for the daring calendar. The 47-year-old, who works as an NHS therapy assistant, said: “It was my husband’s idea, so I just asked for a few volunteers and plenty of people said they would.

“They are friends and family and are all doing it willingly, I didn’t have to twist anyone’s arm!

“Because we have so many we’ll probably have two or three on some of the shots.

“I think we’re all a little bit nervous but we’ve had a meeting to see where we can each have the shots taken, so everybody has got a scene. They are all looking forward to it, but I think we might need a drink or two beforehand!”

A hair stylist and make-up artist are giving up their time for the shoot, as is local firm, Craftylove Photography.

The shoot will be at The Healdfield pub in Castleford this weekend. Up to 300 calendars are will be initially printed selling for £10 each.
