A three legged dog has a new lease of life thanks to the generosity of its owner’s friends.
Morgan was hit by a car on the road outside his Thornes Road home last month.
His owner, mum-of-five Marie Holman, rushed her three-year-old pet to a an emergency vet in Barnsley.
But she was faced with the agonising option of putting Morgan to sleep or to have his leg amputated. She did not think she could afford the operation - but her friends stepped in to help and donated £305 to help cover the cost.
Ms Holman, 42, of Thornes Road, said: “We are so grateful for the help, it has been amazing and he is doing so well now.”
She says she has notified the police about the incident.
