Three men tried to rob boy at knifepoint in South Kirkby

Three men tried to rob a 16-year-old boy at knifepoint in South Kirkby.

The boy was walking from Hemsworth towards South Kirkby on Hemsworth Road, near Hague Hall Hill, when the three men approached him.

The attempted robbery happened between 10pm and 10.30pm on Tuesday, March 24.

Police have issued CCTV images of a man they want to speak to.

He is described as around 18-years-old, approximately 6ft tall, of stocky build with ginger hair.

Officers believe the men were walking home to Hemsworth.

DC Wrigley, of Wakefield CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who can assist in providing information about this very serious offence to give that information to the police in order that these offenders be brought to justice.”
