Ticket inspector kicked by man with dog in suspected racist attack

A ticket inspector was kicked by a man who then tried to set his dog on him in a suspected racially aggravated assault at Fitzwilliam railway station.

British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for witnesses to trace a man they want to speak to about the incident, which happened on Thursday, January 22.

The suspect is described as a white male, of strong build and between 30 and 35 years old.

He had short mousey-brown hair, a small moustache and a goatee type beard.

He had a muscular brown dog, possibly a Staffordshire bull terrier or similar, with him.

The dog was wearing a plastic red poppy on the collar.
