Castleford Swimming Pool will be closed for at least a week

Coun Les Shaw, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport, said: “Unfortunately, flooding due to the adverse weather at the weekend has caused damage at Castleford Swimming Pool.

“We are working hard to establish the full extent of the damage and get the pool reopened as soon as possible, but it is likely to be closed for at least a week. We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause.

“We ask residents to visit our website for up to date information on when the pool will reopen before visiting.”

The flooding has caused damage to the boiler, the hot water feed and contaminated the pool at the Aketon Road baths,
