Dewsbury's Bus Museum to tour on Yorkshire Day this weekend
A bus museum in Dewsbury is to launch vintage buses across West Yorkshire to celebrate the county's big day.
On Saturday to celebrate Yorkshire Day, the museum's Trust team are planning to bring vintage buses to the people in Dewsbury, Normanton, Castleford, and Pontefract.
The West Riding Omnibus Museum Trust operates the Bus Museum in Dewsbury, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the museum has been closed since March.
West Riding Omnibus Museum Trust spokeswoman, Julie Aylward said: "As you will know, August 1 is Yorkshire Day but the celebrations will be very different this year because of the pandemic.
"We will be doing a tour of the West Riding operating area with some of our collection on Saturday.
"This will include include a period when we will be parked outside the Town Hall on Wood Street where the public will have the opportunity to take photographs of the buses.
"Our itinerary starts in Dewsbury at 10:30am to arrive at Wakefield Town Hall, on Wood Street, for about 11:30am.
"After that, we will be taking a trip through Normanton, Castleford and Pontefract before heading back to the museum."
