Members of the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) took industrial action for the seventh time this year between 7pm and midnight on Tuesday.

But during the five hour period, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service still provided cover from non-striking members and Community Response Operatives.

And those crews attended 11 incidents across the county.

They attended a small electrical fire at an address on Churchbalk Lane, Pontefract, at 9.45pm.

Then at 10.15pm they assisted other emergency services during a crash on Leeds Road, Glasshoughton, near Castleford.

Two vehicles were involved and two people were treated at the scene and taken to hospital by ambulance.

FBU members are due to strike again on New Year’s Eve, between 6.30pm and 12.30am, and on Friday, January 3, from 6.30am until 8.30am.
