Four people injured in Knottingley car crash

Four people were left injured following a two-car crash in Knottingley.

One man was left unconscious and two men and a woman suffered back injuries following the incident on Great North Road at 10.45pm last night.

Firefighters from Pontefract were first on the scene of the crash, which involved a silver Peugeot 206 and a grey Vauxhall Astra, and administered first aid until paramedics arrived.

Four ambulances attended in total, as well as firefighters from Castleford and the police.

All four people were taken to Pontefract General Infirmary, although there injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police put a road closure in place to allow emergency services to carry out their work.
